How we got here

Our story

A photo of the two of you

We met as classmates, in a room neither of us particularly wanted to be in, trading notes and bad coffee and opinions we were far too confident about. It took an embarrassingly long time to admit that the best part of the week was the walk afterwards, the one that kept getting longer.

Classmates first, then something far better — and best friends the whole way through.

Years later, the walk still hasn’t ended. We have moved cities and changed jobs and rearranged a great many plans, and the constant through all of it has been the simple fact that we would rather tell each other about the day than anyone else. On October 17 we are making it official in the city that has held most of our story so far, surrounded by the small circle of people who helped write it.

Thank you for being part of that circle. We cannot wait to see you in Toronto.

Saturday, October 17

Order of events

One evening, two rooms, and a short walk east between them. Everything below runs on Toronto time.

  1. 4:30 PM

    Gathering at City Hall

    East Tower, 3rd Floor. Come up to the Wedding Chambers and find a seat.

  2. 5:00 PM

    The Ceremony

    Short, warm, and entirely unplugged — please keep phones away.

  3. 5:30 PM

    Photos & Transit to Maison Selby

    A few photographs on the square, then make your way east. Allow about twenty minutes.

  4. 6:30 PM

    Cocktails & Welcome Drinks in The Parlour

    Maison Selby, main floor. Settle in and say hello.

  5. 7:30 PM

    Seated Dinner & Toasts

    A prix-fixe menu, a few words from the people we love, and dessert to finish.

Dress code

Cocktail / Semi-Formal

Suits, cocktail dresses, and anything you feel wonderful in. October evenings in Toronto turn cool after sunset, and there is a short walk between venues — a jacket or wrap and comfortable shoes will serve you well.

Locations & travel

Both venues sit in downtown Toronto, about twenty minutes apart by subway or cab.

The Ceremony

Wedding Chambers — East Tower, 3rd Floor

100 Queen St W, Toronto, ON M5H 2N2

5:00 PM ceremony · guests arrive 4:30 PM

We will be married in the Wedding Chambers on the third floor of the East Tower. Please come up a little early — the ceremony itself is brief and begins right on time.

  • Transit: Queen or Osgoode station on Line 1, both a two-minute walk to Nathan Phillips Square.
  • Parking: Green P garage beneath Nathan Phillips Square, with the entrance off Queen St W.

The Parlour — Main Floor

Dinner and drinks will be hosted in The Parlour on the main floor of the historic Gooderham mansion.

  • Transit: Sherbourne station on Line 2 is one block south, at Sherbourne and Bloor.
  • Parking: Paid lot on Huntley St, plus metered street parking along Sherbourne.

The Parlour is an intimate, seated room and Maison Selby plates each course to an exact count. Please reply by September 19, 2026 — one form per guest, so that every set of menu choices reaches the kitchen.
